Other Articles, Papers and Presentations on Kenya
Hornsby, "The Social Structure of the National Assembly in Kenya, 1963-83", Journal of Modern African Studies, Vol. 27, No. 2, 1989.
This was based on part of my D.Phil. Thesis on the Role of the Member of Parliament in Kenya. It is - I guess - still in copyright, but as it is from 1986, I cant imagine anyone would complain if I put up a scanned pdf:

I provided support to NEMU during that difficult first multi-party election and contributed a chapter at the end to their report. "Data Analysis on Registration, Voting and Counting", The Multi-Party General Elections in Kenya: 29 December, 1992, National Election Monitoring Unit, 1993.
I supported David Throup in coordinating the international observers in 1997, while also working with IED, and contributed extensively to the resulting book, particularly though "Election Day and the Results", in Out for the Count: The 1997 General Elections and Prospects for Democracy in Kenya, eds. Rutten. Mazrui and Grignon, Fountain, 2001.
I wrote "The History and Impact of Opinion Polls in Kenya", an unpublished paper presented at the International Republican Institute-sponsored Conference on Opinion Polling in Kenya in Nairobi, 2001.

I published nothing under my own name on Kenya between starting on Kenya: A History Since Independence in 2000 and its eventual publication in 2011, though I wrote or posted material on Facebook for a few friends and colleagues leading up to and after both the 2002 and 2007 polls. I also provided ad hoc advice to the UK FCO staff on Kenya from time to time.
After the 2013 poll, I gave a presentation at the African Studies Centre Leiden in November on "The first Six Months of the new Jubilee Government"

A piece published on Facebook in September 2016, analysing the formation of the new Jubilee Party and predicting its victory in the 2017 elections.

In 2017, I wrote a series of four articles reviewing events and predicting the results of the election in John Githongo's The Elephant. I was pretty accurate on what was going to happen, and a result took some abuse from NASA "haters" on social media, as I must have been part of their perceived rigging conspiracy.
